Your Eyes Are Invaluable
Book an OCT Screening at Barnham Opticians in Bognor Regis, West Sussex
Your eyes are an invaluable part of your health, which is why it’s important to take care of them. With an OCT screening our optometrists can not only provide an early diagnosis for a number of ocular conditions, but also give you an ongoing record of the health and conditions of your eyes. An OCT scan can be beneficial for you regardless of age and eye health – although we do recommend you have a screening if you’re over 60 or have a history with eye problems.
Meeting Your Needs
At Barnham Opticians your comfort and eye health is our number one priority. We understand that you may have a busy schedule, or may have concerns about possible discomfort during an OCT screening. An OCT scan is non-invasive, painless, simple and quick – normally taking only a few minutes, so you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing that your eyes are in good condition without having to worry about barriers that may deter or prevent you from having a screening.
How a Screening Benefits You
An OCT uses light to image different layers that make up the structures at the front and back of your eye, capturing both a photograph and a cross-sectional scan of your eyes at the same time, providing high resolution 3D images. This allows for easy checks for potentially serious conditions, giving you both an instant and early diagnosis. What’s more, the software can automatically detect even the most subtle changes to the retina with every eye test you have – giving you an invaluable ongoing record of the health and condition of your eyes.
What Does a Screening Show?
An OCT screening can detect various ocular conditions that could be harmful to your health.
This includes the following –
- Macular degeneration
- Macular holes
- Vitreous detachments
- Extremely subtle retina changes
How Does All This Work?
How does this all work? Well the answers simple! Just book an appointment with one of our optometrists, who will then scan your eyes using Topcons’ innovative 3D OCT camera. After examining the high resolution images of your eyes using built-in analysis tools, any future scans can be compared with previous ones. If you’re interested in keeping an all-important record of your ocular health, and want to insure that any harmful conditions are detected as early as possible, an OCT scan would be extremely beneficial to you.
